Who you are dealing with
A B CAB® (Cab & Car Rental Services) is a cab and car rental business based in Surat, Gujarat, running since 2019. Ask us for the registration number before you pay — we would rather you did.
We own the cars and employ the drivers. When you book, you are dealing with the operator, not an agent placing your trip with somebody else.
These terms cover trips booked with us by phone, WhatsApp, email or through this website.
How a booking is made
This website does not confirm bookings. Nothing on it takes a payment or reserves a car. The forms open a WhatsApp message; the booking happens in the conversation that follows.
A booking exists when we have confirmed it back to you with the date, the route, the car and the fare. Until you have that confirmation, nothing is held.
For weddings and fleet bookings, the cars are held against an advance. See the cancellation policy for what happens to it.
Fares
Every fare is quoted for your trip before you travel, and the figure we quote is the figure you pay. There is no meter and no surge.
The fare includes toll, state border tax and the driver's allowance. On a multi-day trip it includes the driver's night stay.
The fare does not include parking at the drop point where it is charged, entry tickets, temple donations or guide fees, or anything you buy on the way.
The starting fares shown on this website are worked out from our published per-km rates and the distance for that route. They are a guide, not a quote: they assume the route as published, and your actual fare is the one we send you once we know your date, your car and your pickup address.
Trips shorter than 100 km are charged at a minimum of 100 km. The car has to reach you and get back whatever the distance, and below that point those two journeys cost the same. Every route page under 100 km says so on its face rather than leaving you to work out why the arithmetic does not divide.
Distance driven outside the agreed route is charged at the same per-km rate you were quoted, and we tell you before it is added, not at the end.
If you need the driver to wait at the pickup or somewhere along the way, say so when you book. Waiting is agreed with you in advance like everything else in the fare, never added at the drop.
Payment
Cash or UPI, at the end of the trip, for an ordinary booking. There is nothing to pay in advance and nothing to pay on this website.
Weddings and fleet bookings take an advance to hold the cars, with the balance at the end.
Corporate accounts are billed monthly against a statement of the month's trips. Tell us what your accounts team needs and we will tell you exactly what you will receive.
Never pay a driver anything above the agreed fare. If you are asked to, call the booking number before you pay.
The car you get
You book a class of car — Sedan, SUV, Kia Carens, Innova, Innova Crysta or Tempo Traveller — and that is the class that arrives.
Where we have confirmed a specific model to you, that model arrives. If something makes that impossible, we tell you before the trip and you decide, rather than finding out when the car turns up.
Every car in the fleet is air conditioned and maintained on a service schedule.
Luggage capacity is what is listed for that car. If you are carrying more than usual, say so when you ask for the fare so we can send the right vehicle rather than turn up short.
The driver
Drivers are licence and background checked and work for us. The driver's name and number are shared with you before pickup.
On a multi-day trip it is the same driver throughout.
Drivers follow the law on speed, seatbelts and the number of passengers carried, and we back them when they do. A driver may decline to carry more people than the vehicle is licensed for, or to continue if a passenger is unsafe or abusive.
Smoking, alcohol and anything illegal are not allowed in our cars.
Where we run
Gujarat and Maharashtra, and the routes published on this website. One route on the list, Ahmedabad to Indore, crosses into Madhya Pradesh.
If you ask for somewhere we do not run, we will say so rather than take the booking and hand it to an operator we do not know.
Changes, delays and things going wrong
Roads, weather, traffic and breakdowns happen. Journey times on this website are estimates for a normal day and are not a guarantee of arrival time — if you are catching a flight or a train, tell us the departure time and we will work backwards from it rather than have you work forwards.
If a car goes down, our job is to send a replacement and to tell you before you are left waiting.
We are not able to take responsibility for a flight, train or event missed because of traffic, weather, road closure, mechanical failure or any other cause outside our control. What we will do is tell you honestly and quickly, and help you get there.
Anything you leave behind in the car, tell us as soon as you notice. We will do what we can. We cannot be responsible for belongings left in a vehicle.
If you have a complaint
Call or WhatsApp the number you booked on. It is answered 24×7 by the people who took the booking, and that is deliberate — there is nobody to be passed to.
Tell us while it is happening if you can. A driver problem is far easier to fix during the trip than a week afterwards.
This website
The content, wording, photographs and the A B CAB® name and mark on this site belong to us. Please do not copy them onto another cab website.
We keep the routes, distances and rates on this site current, but they can change and a figure on a page is not a contract. The fare we send you for your trip is.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of India, and the courts at Surat, Gujarat have jurisdiction over anything arising from them.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. The terms that apply to your trip are the ones in force when we confirmed your booking.
Still not sure about something?
Ask before you book rather than after. The number is answered by the people who took the booking, not by a script.
